Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery/Bariatric – Acute Care

About the role

The RN Clinical Nurse works within an interdisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a surgery/bariatric acute‑care setting. The role emphasizes evidence‑based practice, safety, and collaboration with patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using critical thinking and evidence‑based methods.
• Provide culturally sensitive, relationship‑based care and partner with patients and families through bedside reports and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Coordinate documentation, promote an inclusive environment, and support performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to develop the nursing workforce.
• Support resource utilization, protocol development, and compliance with safety and organizational standards.

Required profile

• Minimum education: Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Active RN license (single‑state or multi‑state compact) and BLS certification.
• Less than 1 year of clinical care required; prior care experience preferred.
