Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery/Bariatric - Acute Care

About the role

The RN Clinical Nurse is a core member of an interdisciplinary team delivering individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care in a surgical/bariatric acute-care setting. Working within evidence-based standards and organizational values, the nurse ensures compliance with licensing, ethical, and regulatory requirements while fostering a respectful clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care to diverse populations, respecting cultural differences.
• Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and shared decision-making.
• Coordinate and document safe, quality care, promoting teamwork and inclusivity.
• Engage in professional development, serve as a preceptor or mentor, and support performance improvement and research activities.
• Participate in data collection, adhere to policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification.
• Less than one year of clinical experience or completion of accredited nursing education.
• Strong clinical, communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking abilities.
