Registered Nurse – Orthopedic Acute Care (Part‑Time Night Shift)

About the role

The RN Clinical Nurse specializes in acute care for orthopedic surgical patients, providing high‑quality, safe, and individualized patient care within a multidisciplinary team. They practice under the guidance of Nurse Managers, adhering to evidence‑based standards, the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, and the ANA Code of Ethics.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence‑based practices.
• Deliver relationship‑based, patient‑centered care tailored to diverse populations and cultural needs.
• Engage patients and families through effective communication methods like bedside reports and teaching, focusing on patient goals.
• Coordinate safe, quality care through interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and promoting a respectful environment.
• Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster professional development and a healthy work environment.
• Support resource‑efficient practices, develop protocols, and contribute to quality outcomes such as reduced readmissions and adverse events.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of RN experience, preferably in direct patient care.
• Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse (single‑state or multi‑state compact).
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and time‑management skills; ability to work efficiently in fast‑paced and emergency situations.
• Proficiency in technology and basic computer skills; fluency in English.
