Registered Nurse – Acute Care Orthopedic – Weekend Night Shift

About the role

This position is for a registered nurse specializing in acute care orthopedics, working night shifts on weekends. The role involves providing patient‑centered, relationship‑based care by performing the nursing process, ensuring individualized treatment, and promoting optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence‑based practices.
• Partner with patients and their families, utilizing bedside reports and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Coordinate safe, high‑quality care while fostering teamwork and collaboration across disciplines.
• Participate in performance improvement activities, research, and shared governance to enhance patient safety and care quality.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to support professional development and ensure a qualified workforce.
• Promote evidence‑based practice, adhere to organizational policies, and collect data to inform clinical decisions.
• Support resource management and contribute to protocol development for improved patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Current RN license (single‑state or multi‑state compact) and BLS certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with direct patient‑care background preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and commitment to evidence‑based practice.
