Logistics Operations Manager

About the role

The Logistics Operations Manager oversees daily freight movements, ensuring shipments are processed accurately, paperwork is completed, and drivers are dispatched efficiently. This role serves as the primary liaison between Maersk Ground Freight, customers, sales, system operations, and external vendors while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process shipments, prepare required documentation, and communicate freight status to stakeholders.
• Dispatch drivers for pickups and manage load/off‑load activities using forklifts.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with OSHA regulations and corporate policies.
• Train, supervise, coach, and evaluate direct reports to maintain high morale and effective communication.
• Review operational KPIs monthly, benchmark performance, and implement improvement strategies.
• Build and optimize truck loads for optimal routing and efficiency.

Required profile

• Customer‑service background with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret basic financial statements.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, thriving in high‑pressure environments.
