Emergency Medicine Pharmacist

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Pharmacist provides evidence‑based medication management within a fast‑paced emergency department. The role ensures optimal patient care, safety, and compliance with accreditation standards while supporting interdisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure proper workflow.
• Deliver clinical pharmaceutical care, resolve medication‑related issues, and educate patients.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, medication‑safety reporting, and guideline development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, serve on institutional committees, and conduct area inspections.
• Precept pharmacy students and technicians, and engage in continuing education activities.

Required profile

• Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) with a Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Pharmacy.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; Doctorate preferred.
• At least two years of pharmacy experience is preferred.

• Strong clinical knowledge of emergency medicine pharmacotherapy.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
