Senior Data Software Engineer – AWS, LLM & PySpark

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern cloud‑based data platforms that power AI and Copilot solutions. The role is fully remote within Georgia, allowing you to work from home, our Tbilisi or Batumi offices, or a coworking space in Kutaisi.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for APIs, databases, SaaS apps, and streaming sources.
• Build and optimise data ingestion frameworks using PySpark, Spark SQL and AWS services.
• Develop data models that support analytics, reporting, AI and machine‑learning workloads.
• Implement data quality monitoring, lineage, and governance controls.
• Create serverless, event‑driven processing solutions with AWS Glue, S3, Athena, Redshift, Lambda, EventBridge and IAM.
• Integrate Generative AI and large‑language‑model capabilities into enterprise data workflows.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform, Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Monitor solution health, performance and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with AWS data technologies.
• 1+ year developing Generative AI, LLM or Copilot‑based solutions.
• Proven experience in Agile product delivery teams.
• Strong English proficiency (B2 or higher).

• Prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), LLM integration
• SQL Server, PostgreSQL

• CI/CD with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Microsoft Fabric, Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions
• Knowledge of Snowflake and Cosmos DB (nice to have)
