Delivery Manager

About the role

The Delivery Manager is a high‑level role within a tribe, responsible for cross‑squad delivery management and analogous to a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in the SAFe framework. The role defines delivery scope, coordinates squads to deliver value, and acts as a chief Scrum Master to ensure optimal development processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the flow of value across cross‑platform releases and establish annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments.
• Facilitate PI planning, tribe‑wide backlog refinement, roadmap preparation and track execution of features and capabilities.
• Provide governance on the tribe’s SDLC, ensure agile practices are followed, and deliver training on agreed standards.
• Collaborate with tribe leadership, other tribes, and Operations to identify risks, remove impediments and balance new features with incident resolution.
• Directly manage Scrum Masters – conduct 1‑to‑1s, performance management, mentoring and recruitment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of delivery/project/programme management experience, preferably with SaaS products.
• Proven experience working with cross‑functional technology teams and iterative, value‑driven product releases.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Atlassian tools, especially JIRA and Confluence.
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and the SAFe methodology.
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Google Docs, Slack and Skype.
• Understanding of software QA methodologies, test‑plan implementation and ability to design sequence, activity diagrams and flowcharts.
• Relevant certifications: Professional Scrum Master (PSM) and ITIL.
