Senior Counsel, AI & Legal Technology

About the role

The Senior Counsel, AI & Legal Technology will act as the primary legal advisor for Relativity on all matters related to artificial intelligence, product development and legal technology. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the role combines legal expertise with a deep understanding of emerging AI regulations to enable fast‑moving business initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the go‑to legal advisor for AI, product development and marketing matters.
• Monitor, interpret and communicate domestic and international AI law developments and industry trends, translating them into actionable guidance.
• Draft and maintain internal policies, frameworks, agreement terms and best‑practice guidelines to ensure compliance with current and emerging regulations.
• Negotiate and advise on contracts with independent software vendors, open‑source providers, strategic partners and go‑to‑market collaborations.
• Review AI‑specific clauses in customer and vendor agreements and related marketing materials.
• Provide legal input on product feature launches, go‑to‑market strategies and technology collaborations, recommending defensible approaches.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Procurement, Customer Success and other stakeholders to develop scalable processes and manage legal risk.

Required profile

• Licensed attorney with significant experience in technology, AI and product law.
• Strong analytical ability to distill complex regulatory issues into clear business guidance.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in the tech sector.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product, engineering and business teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
