Senior Accountant – International Operations (Georgia)

About the role

The Senior Accountant will be based in Georgia and will oversee the accounting function for our international locations. Reporting to the Country Senior Financial Controller, the role ensures high‑quality accounting work, supports audits and manages communication with group companies across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review the work of AP & Banking and GL & Reporting accountants, including month‑end close sign‑off and reconciliations.
• Plan workload, coordinate deadlines, and train/onboard the accounting team.
• Provide audit support, prepare responses to auditor requests and coordinate with external tax and payment providers.
• Manage accounting for Georgian import and export operations, handling customs duties, freight, insurance and related documentation.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and the Georgian Revenue Service, ensuring correct VAT treatment and tax filings.
• Act as senior point of contact for group companies, facilitating cross‑country meetings and tax alignment discussions.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience, including at least 2 years supervising other accountants.
• Experience in international, multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments.
• Knowledge of Georgian accounting, tax and customs requirements for import/export.
• Fluent in English and Georgian (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills for reconciliations, cash‑flow analysis and review files.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Experience handling GEL/FX transactions and related currency regulations.
