Sampler – Entry Level Petroleum Sample Technician

About the role

The Sampler is an entry‑level position responsible for collecting petroleum, petrochemical fluids and, in some regions, dry cargo samples from vessels, rail/road cars and shore tanks. The role requires strict adherence to defined procedures, safety standards and accurate documentation to support laboratory analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct sampling of petrochemical fluids and dry cargo according to client instructions, Saybolt Standard procedures and the Global Safety Manual.
• Label, store and secure samples with full product details, sampling time and inspector information.
• Arrange safe and timely transportation of samples to the laboratory.
• Assist senior inspectors during inspection tasks and participate in required training and examinations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of hazardous material handling, transportation regulations and sampling best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum high school or secondary education (or equivalent).
• At least one year of experience in a service‑oriented environment (preferred).
• Valid Class B driving licence with a satisfactory record.
• Valid work permit for Georgia.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to work irregular shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
