RN - Acute Care Orthopedic Surgery Part-Time Night Shift

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care in an acute‑care orthopedic surgical setting during night‑shift hours. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the RN follows evidence‑based practices to promote optimal outcomes for surgical patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process.
• Deliver culturally competent, relationship‑based care tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team through bedside reports and education.
• Document care accurately and timely to support safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate safe and efficient patient care delivery.
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Support evidence‑based practice, research, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Assist in developing protocols and optimizing resource utilization for better patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years RN experience in direct patient care (preferred).
• Current RN license (single‑state or multi‑state compact).
• BLS certification.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, prioritize tasks, and respond decisively to emergencies.
