RN Acute Care Neuro PRN Night Shift

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a neuro‑focused acute care unit during night shifts on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the RN will assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care using evidence‑based practices while ensuring cultural sensitivity and individualized attention.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized clinical care through the full nursing process to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members via bedside reports and education, aligning care with patient goals.
• Document and coordinate safe, quality care, fostering teamwork and an inclusive clinical environment.
• Support performance improvement, research activities, and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
• Assist in developing and maintaining protocols, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and safety goals.
• Mentor nursing staff and students as a preceptor, contributing to workforce development.
• Plan patient care across the continuum, utilizing resources efficiently.

Required profile

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Active RN license (single‑state or multi‑state Compact) and current BLS certification.
• Experience in direct patient care, preferably in acute neuro settings.
• Strong interpersonal, critical‑thinking, and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with clinical technology used in acute care environments.
