About the role

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care in critical care environments, delivering complex treatments, medication administration, and comprehensive patient assessments. The role supports a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal respiratory function for acutely ill patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to verify and implement treatment orders.
• Administer aerosolized medications, manage oxygen therapy, and oversee ventilator settings, including waveform interpretation.
• Conduct airway procedures, both invasive and non‑invasive, and perform arterial blood gas analysis.
• Educate patients, families, and staff; mentor new employees and students.
• Maintain accurate documentation, follow safety protocols, and contribute to performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and professional standards of practice.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in a critical care setting.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC‑RRT or RCP.
• Either a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Required skills

• Ventilator management and waveform interpretation.
• Airway procedures (invasive and non‑invasive).
• Arterial blood gas analysis.
• Aerosolized medication and oxygen therapy administration.
• Proficiency with computer systems and clinical databases.
