Product Engineer Intern

About the role

OpenGov is seeking a Product Engineer Intern to experience the full product lifecycle—from customer discovery to delivery—within a 10‑week program. This role blends product thinking with hands‑on AI‑assisted tooling, giving you real ownership of a scoped problem.

Key responsibilities

• Define a scoped product problem with a specific set of customers, needs, and outcomes.
• Conduct or observe customer conversations and translate insights into product decisions.
• Design user‑experience flows using the existing design system and validate them with users.
• Utilize AI‑native tooling to move from intent to specification to a working prototype.
• Establish success metrics for your project and track them throughout the internship.

Required profile

• Strong interest or background in product management, UX design, engineering, or a combination of these fields.
• Curiosity about customers and a desire to solve real problems rather than produce slide decks.
• Willingness to take ownership of a product challenge and learn quickly in an ambiguous environment.
