Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN)

About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN) works alongside licensed physical therapists to deliver patient‑centered rehabilitation services. The role focuses on restoring mobility, strength, and coordination across various care settings while adhering to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans under therapist guidance and select appropriate activities to meet patient goals.
• Revise care plans collaboratively with therapists, patients, and families.
• Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to community resources.
• Document each treatment session accurately, following departmental protocols.
• Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and proper attire.
• Communicate effectively with team members, participate in meetings, and organize workload efficiently.
• Promote a positive environment, apply customer service principles, and foster teamwork.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, complete required competencies, and assist in training new staff.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy or a related field (high school diploma required).
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire.
