Physical Therapy Assistant PRN Acute Care

About the role

We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) on a PRN basis to support acute care patients. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help improve mobility, strength, coordination and range of motion for individuals recovering from illness or injury.

Key responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist to enhance patient mobility, strength, coordination and range of motion.
• Select appropriate therapeutic activities, adjust goals collaboratively, and educate patients and families on care plans.
• Provide discharge instructions and refer patients to community resources as needed.
• Document all treatments in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
• Serve as a resource for staff, maintain confidentiality, and uphold ethical practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, ongoing education and training sessions.
• Ensure safe, cost‑effective use of equipment and follow infection‑prevention protocols.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• Current, valid PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Effective communication skills and a customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic computer proficiency.
