Mainframe Developer

About the role

The Software Development Engineer will serve as a technical leader in the Mainframe Software Engineering Department, developing, testing, and supporting complex solutions for the Digital Banking division payment processing platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Solution Architect and scrum team to ensure code aligns with architecture and best practices.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups, code reviews, QA walkthroughs, and help plan sprints while delivering high‑quality tasks on schedule.
• Develop deep understanding of data models, flows, audit controls, error handling, and security components.
• Validate technical designs, prototype new concepts, and drive continuous improvement in development practices.
• Coordinate with offshore teams for peer reviews, documentation, and installations.
• Provide 24x7 on‑call and production support, and execute manual and automated test plans, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant experience.
• Five or more years designing and developing secure mainframe applications.
• Hands‑on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ and Db2 for z/OS.
• Strong client‑facing skills and experience in large‑scale financial institutions.
• Experience in production support, test data setup, and test environment configuration.
• Ability to provide 24x7 on‑call support on a rotational basis.
