Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer – Data Center (Remote)

About the role

Olsson is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Project Engineer to design and deliver instrumentation and control systems for data center projects. You will work remotely with a multidisciplinary team, delivering concepts, detailed designs, retrofits, and overseeing construction verification.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑level conceptual and detailed site designs for Building Management Systems (BMS) in data centers.
• Perform factory witness testing, construction administration, and verification activities.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, sub‑consultants, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure proper BMS implementation.
• Manage BMS design tasks, specifications, and drawings, including occasional site visits.
• Select and specify process instrumentation, PLCs, HMI equipment, and networking components (copper, fiber, wireless).
• Create BMS sequences of operation and conduct submittal reviews and field inspections.
• Oversee task management and documentation throughout project phases.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high‑quality solutions.
• Professional engineering license preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
