Customs Operations Specialist

About the role

Xometry is looking for an experienced Customs Operations Specialist to support its EU export activities. You will ensure export documentation is accurate, maintain compliance with EU customs regulations, and act as the main liaison with customs brokers and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complete export document packages and provide required information to customs brokers.
• Review commercial data (value, origin, Incoterms, product descriptions) for accuracy.
• Verify customs entries and respond to inquiries from customs authorities.
• Manage day‑to‑day communication with brokers, transport companies, and customs officials.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in export declarations.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders during customs reviews and audits.
• Assess product eligibility under preferential trade agreements and prepare EUR.1 certificates.
• Handle non‑standard shipments such as warranty returns, repairs, and duty‑free re‑imports.
• Determine and verify HS codes, collaborating with technical teams for accurate product information.
• Support month‑end special export procedures and operational issue resolution.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of EU customs regulations and trade compliance.
• Detail‑oriented with a problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with logistics, finance, IT, and technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external coordination.
