CT Technologist

About the role

The CT Technologist is responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality computed tomography imaging while providing a supportive experience for patients. Working as part of a collaborative care team, the technologist follows department protocols to capture diagnostic images and ensure patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CT imaging equipment independently, maintaining diagnostic quality and minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
• Prepare and maintain equipment and exam rooms, reporting any issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify patient identity and orders, and explain procedures using AIDET communication.
• Ensure patient privacy, comfort, and safety, including administering contrast agents via venipuncture when required.
• Position patients, apply shielding, and review images for diagnostic acceptability.
• Document procedures accurately in RIS/PACS and monitor patient condition throughout exams.
• Respond to emergencies and support department workflow, including patient transport and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum of 1 year of radiology experience.
• Current certifications: ARRT‑R (Radiography), ARRT‑CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively with patients, and follow safety protocols.
