Cardiac Sonographer – Full‑time Diagnostic Ultrasound

About the role

The organization is seeking a full‑time Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality imaging while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all departmental cardiac ultrasound exams in accordance with established procedures.
• Obtain complete clinical histories, verify orders, and assess patients for contraindications.
• Set up and operate ultrasound equipment, position patients, and acquire diagnostic‑grade images.
• Review images for clinical acceptability, document findings, and transmit studies to PACS.
• Assist patients with preparation, provide clear explanations, and address questions using AIDET principles.
• Maintain equipment, restock supplies, and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Troubleshoot workstation and equipment issues while adhering to infection‑control standards.
• Participate in ongoing training, complete mandatory education, and support team members as needed.
• Follow all policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards, including patient identification and privacy protocols.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED; diagnostic medical sonography training preferred.
• ARDMS, CCI, or RDCS certification upon hire; BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of echocardiography experience or related training.
• Dependable, accountable, cooperative, with strong critical‑thinking and independent‑judgment abilities.
