Team Leader

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Team Leader for a major road and bridge supervision assignment in Georgia. The role provides overall leadership to the supervision team, manages stakeholder relationships, and ensures project delivery in line with international standards and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership to the supervision team.
• Manage stakeholder relationships throughout the project.
• Ensure delivery of the project in line with international standards and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in transport infrastructure projects.
• At least 10 years in senior project leadership or team leadership roles on major assignments.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
• Extensive experience in planning, managing and delivering major road and bridge projects.
• At least 10 years of international project experience, preferably across multiple countries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams on large‑scale highway and transport infrastructure projects.
• Experience working under FIDIC‑based contracts and international engineering standards.
• Previous involvement in ADB, World Bank, EBRD, AIIB or other MDB‑funded projects is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and client management capabilities.
• Excellent English communication and report‑writing skills.

Required skills

• PMP certification.
• Knowledge of FIDIC‑based contract frameworks.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards for transport infrastructure.
