About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Vehicle Controls Engineer to own the development of systems that translate a planned trajectory into safe, stable and comfortable steering, braking and acceleration commands on real vehicles. You will work directly with vehicle hardware, conduct track and road testing, and bring control algorithms from simulation to production.

Key responsibilities

Design, implement, tune and test lateral and longitudinal control systems for cars or autonomous vehicles.
Develop production‑quality real‑time control software in C++, C or equivalent languages.
Integrate and validate CAN‑bus, vehicle signals and actuator command interfaces.
Perform modeling, system identification, log analysis and controller evaluation using Python, MATLAB or similar tools.
Debug, tune and validate control loops on real hardware, including track or road testing.
Demonstrate at least one complete control system from concept through physical deployment, including safety mechanisms.

Required profile

Proven experience with vehicle‑control systems on real physical vehicles.
Strong understanding of feedback control, stability, dynamic systems and vehicle dynamics.
Hands‑on experience with steering, throttle, braking or drive‑by‑wire systems.
Ability to work directly with hardware and participate in on‑vehicle testing.

CAN bus, vehicle signal interfaces, actuator command interfaces
Feedback control, vehicle dynamics, state estimation, sensor fusion
Model Predictive Control, optimal/robust/nonlinear control (nice‑to‑have)
Embedded Linux, RTOS, safety‑critical real‑time systems (nice‑to‑have)
Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop / Vehicle‑in‑the‑Loop testing (nice‑to‑have)
Functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or SOTIF (nice‑to‑have)
