Senior Lead System Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Lead System Administrator with over six years of experience to manage and optimise our server infrastructure. The role involves ensuring high availability, security, and performance of hardware, operating systems, and critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system health, verify integrity of hardware and server resources, and review logs daily.
• Perform regular security checks, backups, archival, and purge operations.
• Create, modify, and delete user accounts and groups, managing access permissions.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, troubleshoot minor to complex issues, and coordinate recovery from failures.
• Apply OS patches, upgrades, and configure new services as required.
• Maintain data‑center environmental monitoring equipment and generate performance reports for capacity planning.
• Engineer solutions for both minor and complex projects, contributing to system standards and automation.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in systems administration.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or equivalent UNIX/Linux certification.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage large‑scale infrastructure projects.

Required skills

• Microsoft Exchange, OCS, Blackberry, IronPort.
• Microsoft Configuration Manager, ISA/Proxy.
• Storage technologies such as Legato, IPStor, SAN.
• NetScaler/Citrix, SharePoint 2007.
• Anti‑Virus solutions, F5, SiteMinder.
• Virtualisation platforms, especially VMware.
