Principal AI Solutions Engineer – Freelance (B2B)

About the role

As a Freelance Principal AI Solutions Engineer at Toloka AI, you will work directly with senior technology leaders to solve complex AI data challenges. You will translate ambitious model goals into practical, scalable data‑generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines, guiding clients from problem discovery through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and research leaders to define AI data strategies.
• Design and build end‑to‑end data‑generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines for next‑generation AI models.
• Lead executive conversations using a concise, answer‑first approach and manage escalations with composure.
• Mentor Solution Engineers and Technical Consultants, establishing best practices across engagements.
• Diagnose client needs by asking probing questions and aligning solutions with model metrics and training objectives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in AI/ML data engineering or solution architecture.
• Proven ability to work with senior technical stakeholders in a consulting capacity.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on evidence‑based recommendations.
• Self‑starter comfortable in a remote‑first, globally distributed environment.
