Physical Therapy Assistant PRN

About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver patient‑centered rehabilitation services. This PRN (as‑needed) position supports patients in regaining mobility, strength, and functional independence after injury or illness.

Key responsibilities

• Implement therapist‑approved treatment plans, selecting appropriate therapeutic activities to meet patient goals.
• Collaborate with therapists, patients, and families to revise care plans as needed.
• Provide education, discharge instructions, and follow‑up referrals to patients and families.
• Document each treatment session according to departmental protocols.
• Serve as a resource for staff, families, and physicians regarding rehabilitation services and equipment.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• Current, valid PTA license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and infection‑prevention standards.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
