Pedestrian Street View Operator – On‑Foot Data Collector

About the role

The Pedestrian Operator collects high‑resolution imagery for web‑mapping platforms while working on foot in public environments. The role demands strict adherence to safety, privacy, and data‑quality standards, as well as the ability to manage sophisticated imaging equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow detailed collection routes and schedules to capture imagery across designated geographic areas.
• Operate specialised hardware such as high‑resolution cameras, LiDAR units and custom capture devices.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues in the field under technical supervision.
• Maintain strict compliance with pedestrian privacy, safety protocols and data acquisition rules.
• Interact professionally with the public and local authorities, escalating complex queries as needed.
• Complete daily reports on progress, equipment status and any logistical challenges.
• Manage inventory of equipment, ensuring devices are charged, clean and ready for use, and coordinate shipments of storage media.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in field‑based data collection, logistics, surveying, delivery or similar outdoor roles.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record (if a company vehicle is used).
• Ability to walk for extended periods (6 + hours per day) and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong written and verbal English communication (minimum B1 level).
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
