Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

HAIR Labs is building AI‑powered products for recruiting and people operations. We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer who will work directly with recruiters, HR leaders, and hiring managers to translate complex HR workflows into reliable product solutions. The role blends customer interaction, product discovery, rapid prototyping, integration, and production engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with recruiters, HR leaders, and hiring managers to understand workflows and operational bottlenecks.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions and design AI‑powered recruiting automations.
• Build and deploy integrations with ATS, HRIS, email, calendar, communication, and internal data systems.
• Rapidly prototype ideas and turn successful experiments into production‑ready features.
• Configure end‑to‑end workflows for candidate screening, interviews, communication, feedback, and people operations.
• Monitor deployed solutions, investigate failures, and continuously improve performance.
• Feed customer insights back into the core product roadmap and define implementation standards and documentation.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering experience with Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience building API integrations, backend services, and data workflows.
• Practical knowledge of databases, authentication, cloud infrastructure, and production systems.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models (LLMs), AI agents, or workflow automation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working with incomplete requirements and changing priorities.
• Product mindset focused on solving customer problems rather than just delivering features.
