Medical Technologist II – Full-Time

About the role

The Medical Technologist II performs clinical laboratory testing across multiple sections, including General Lab and Blood Bank, under supervision. The role ensures accurate analysis of blood and body fluids, maintains equipment, and supports compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank.
• Perform quality‑assurance activities, equipment maintenance, and reagent/log management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory issues, acting as supervisor when absent.
• Train new staff and contribute to performance‑improvement projects.
• Maintain compliance with CAP and Joint Commission standards.
• If assigned to Blood Bank, rotate, perform STAT duties, and manage blood products.
• Maintain procedure manuals, monitor quality control, assist with surveys, and ensure laboratory readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Health Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• ASCP certification (MT, MLS) or equivalent required upon hire.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist; Epic experience preferred.
• Proficiency in computer/data entry with basic knowledge of Excel and Word.
