Emergency Medicine Pharmacist

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Pharmacist provides evidence‑based medication management within a hospital setting, ensuring safe and appropriate drug therapy for patients. This role collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams, oversees pharmacy technicians, and supports the institution’s mission of compassionate, high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmaceutical care by preventing, detecting, and resolving medication‑related issues.
• Verify medication orders for appropriateness and accuracy, communicating findings to the care team.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on proper medication use.
• Participate in quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives, and develop clinical guidelines.
• Ensure safe, efficient medication distribution and supervise pharmacy technicians.
• Mentor pharmacy students and residents, and engage in educational activities.
• Contribute to program development, serve on committees, and promote continuous learning.
• Adhere to institutional policies, regulatory standards, and professional codes of conduct.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Pharmacy (preferred).
• Active Registered Pharmacist (RPH) license.
• At least 2 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
