CT Technologist

About the role

The CT Technologist delivers safe, high‑quality computed tomography imaging while providing a supportive patient experience. Working within a collaborative care team, the technologist operates CT equipment independently, ensures diagnostic image quality, and adheres to radiation safety principles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures accurately and safely, following department guidelines.
• Maintain diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA).
• Operate and maintain CT equipment, ensuring cleanliness and infection‑control standards.
• Obtain and verify patient identity and clinical history before each exam.
• Explain procedures, address patient questions, and provide age‑appropriate comfort.
• Administer contrast agents using sterile techniques and correctly position patients.
• Review images for quality, repeat scans when necessary, and document procedures precisely.
• Manage digital records in RIS/PACS systems and ensure proper storage of studies.
• Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and maintain life‑support equipment.
• Support departmental workflows, supply management, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• At least one year of experience in radiology or medical imaging.
• Current ARRT‑R and ARRT‑CT certifications.
• Current BLS certification.
