Senior Data Engineer, AI

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with AI expertise to bridge data‑science experimentation and production‑grade systems for an insurance‑sector client. You will transform AI models and prompts into scalable, reliable solutions that integrate with business workflows while ensuring governance, observability and cost‑efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI workflows that combine models, prompts, enterprise data, tools and business logic.
• Develop and maintain prompt‑engineering strategies, including versioning, testing and optimisation.
• Build orchestration layers for multi‑step reasoning, decisioning and action execution.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems, APIs and user interfaces.
• Apply guardrails to guarantee safe, explainable and compliant AI behaviour.
• Maintain production‑grade AI deployment pipelines with focus on reliability, scalability, latency and cost.
• Implement monitoring, observability and drift detection for AI services.
• Establish change‑control, versioning, rollback and release‑management practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, actuaries and business stakeholders to validate model outputs.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or AI engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps practices and tools.
• Proficiency in machine‑learning concepts and model lifecycle management.
• Advanced Python programming skills.
• Hands‑on experience with generative‑AI solutions and prompt engineering.
• Solid SQL and data‑manipulation expertise.
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise systems and APIs.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability and governance for AI.
• English communication at B2 level or higher.
