Lead Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to design, build and maintain internal platforms that give development teams self‑service capabilities for deploying, monitoring and managing applications at scale. The role is fully remote within Georgia, allowing you to work from home, our modern offices in Tbilisi or Batumi, or a coworking space in Kutaisi.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate internal platforms that enable self‑service deployment, monitoring and management for multiple development teams.
• Create and maintain standardized tools, frameworks and libraries to streamline workflows and enforce best practices.
• Integrate diverse development tools and services into a cohesive platform ecosystem.
• Improve developer experience through documentation, training and support.
• Implement high‑availability, reliability and performance practices for platform services.
• Use DORA metrics to measure and enhance development and operational performance.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot platform‑related issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in platform engineering or a closely related role.
• Strong understanding of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Proven ability to work independently and mentor other engineers.
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken, written and reading).

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep.
• GitOps tools: Flux, ArgoCD.
• Resource management tools: Crossplane, Pulumi, AWS Controllers for Kubernetes (ACK).
• Internal Developer Platforms: Backstage, Humanitec, OpsLevel.
• Scripting: Bash, Shell, Python.
