Team Leader – Road & Bridge Supervision (Georgia)

About the role

As part of SMEC's expanding transport infrastructure portfolio, we are seeking a Team Leader for a major road and bridge supervision assignment in Georgia. The successful candidate will provide overall leadership to the supervision team, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure successful delivery of the project in accordance with international standards and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the supervision team throughout the road and bridge project.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, including clients, contractors, and local authorities.
• Ensure project delivery complies with FIDIC‑based contracts and international engineering standards.
• Oversee quality, safety, and schedule performance to meet contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in transport infrastructure projects.
• At least 10 years in senior project leadership or team‑lead roles on major infrastructure assignments.
• PMP certification or equivalent project‑management credential.
• Extensive experience planning, managing, and delivering major road and bridge projects.
• At least 10 years of international project experience, preferably across multiple countries.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams on large‑scale highway, expressway, and bridge projects.
• Experience working under FIDIC contracts and with MDB‑funded projects (ADB, World Bank, etc.) is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in Central Asia or the Caucasus region is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and client‑management capabilities.
• Excellent English communication and report‑writing skills.

Required skills

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• In‑depth knowledge of FIDIC contract frameworks.
