Supplier Quality Development Specialist – Parts Development

About the role

The Supplier Quality Development Specialist will lead the improvement of the Supplier Quality Management System for parts development at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and control procedures and tools to increase Supplier Quality Management System efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate communication and collaboration.
• Conduct regular supplier facility audits and document findings.
• Support suppliers in adopting best‑practice quality control processes.
• Monitor and enhance quality assurance processes across the supply chain.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues promptly, including corrective and preventive actions.
• Track, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality.
• Prepare and present supplier performance and improvement reports to internal stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks and contribute to strategic quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering (R&D), Quality, and Production Planning teams to prevent disruptions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive purchasing, supplier development, APQP, PPAP, or related functions.
• Experience with IATF 16949, launch programs, and program management preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; additional Korean or Spanish language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (high proficiency).
• Six Sigma or other quality‑improvement methodologies.
• APQP and PPAP processes.
• IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Manufacturing processes such as injection molding, press, stamping, die casting, welding, assembly, paint, chroming, foaming, SMC, extrusion, and SMT.
