Staff Accountant (Remote, NY Timezone)

About the role

As a Staff Accountant you will keep monthly books accurate and up‑to‑date for U.S. healthcare clients. By meeting financial deadlines and ensuring clean month‑end closes, you help operations run smoothly and securely. This remote position is aligned with the New York time zone.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of facility financial activity, post and review monthly revenue, and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Complete month‑end closures, run quality checklists, review P&L statements and collaborate with finance operations teams.
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve issues, inform management of timeline risks, and prepare timely reports for clients.
• Assist senior staff in developing annual revenue, expense and staffing budgets and verify final budgets with management.
• Support audit processes, train new employees, suggest workflow improvements, compile data for external audits and tax filings, and review bank reconciliations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or current enrollment in an accounting program.
• Understanding of GAAP and basic accounting processes.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and quick learning of new systems and policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
