Sr. Solutions Architect - Financial Services (Banking and Payments)

About the role

As a Senior Solutions Architect focused on Financial Services, you will lead the most complex customer engagements, shaping technical and consumption strategies that drive platform adoption and revenue growth. You will act as the trusted technical advisor for enterprise data and AI initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders across banking and payments organizations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute technical and consumption strategies for large, complex accounts.
• Own senior-level technical relationships and serve as an advisor on data, AI, and lakehouse architectures.
• Lead multi‑workload platform designs, enterprise migrations, real‑time systems, and AI/ML at scale.
• Provide expert guidance on the Databricks platform, mentor junior architects, and drive cross‑functional delivery with sales, partners, and product teams.
• Develop competitive positioning and displacement strategies against incumbent platforms.
• Contribute to field engineering thought leadership through workshops, customer content, and community engagement.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre‑sales, or a senior customer‑facing technical role.
• Proven track record of influencing Directors, VPs, and C‑level executives on data and AI strategy.
• Demonstrated success driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large enterprise accounts.
• Strong strategic thinking linking technical decisions to business outcomes.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline (advanced degrees a plus).

Required skills

• Expert‑level programming in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Spark and PySpark.
• Deep knowledge of the Databricks platform or comparable lakehouse solutions.
• Expertise in enterprise data architecture, distributed systems, streaming/real‑time processing, and cloud‑native platforms.
