Senior Resident Engineer

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer for a major road and bridge supervision assignment in Georgia. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day site supervision, coordinating technical teams, and supporting the Team Leader to ensure quality, safety, schedule and contract compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily site supervision activities for road and bridge works.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams on‑site.
• Support the Team Leader in monitoring quality, safety, schedule and contract compliance.
• Ensure adherence to FIDIC or similar contract conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional registration (PE, Chartered Engineer, EUR ING or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in road, highway and transport infrastructure projects.
• At least 8 years of international project experience, preferably across multiple countries.
• Experience on ADB, World Bank, EBRD or AIIB funded projects is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Road and bridge supervision.
• Highway construction, including pavements, earthworks, structures and interchanges.
• FIDIC contract administration.
• Excellent English communication and report‑writing.
