Senior Application Engineer – Automation (Electrical)

About the role

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is looking for a Senior Application Engineer specializing in automation to join its Tbilisi team. In this highly technical position you will act as the subject‑matter expert for automation solutions, supporting customers, partners, and internal groups throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in automation systems, industrial communications, and SEL solutions.
• Provide advanced technical support through on‑site visits, demonstrations, training, and remote assistance.
• Design and implement automation solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
• Support system integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and overall project execution.
• Create application software, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Deliver technical training to customers, partners, and SEL personnel.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Control Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in automation, industrial control systems, application engineering, or system integration.
• Proven ability to analyze and solve complex technical challenges in demanding environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as required and work independently while collaborating globally.
