Reconciliation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Reconciliation Specialist to join our Commercial Strategy team. In this role you will own end‑to‑end financial reconciliation, monitor processing metrics and manage risk across our global merchant portfolio, working at the intersection of payment data modeling, business analytics and executive decision support.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end reconciliation for merchant entities in the US, EU and LATAM, matching invoices, acquirer/PSP settlements, payouts and bank movements.
• Reconcile chargeback‑related costs and credits (dispute fees, RDR, VAMP fees, reserves) against actual charges.
• Track payment plans and installment schedules, flagging overdue, overpaid or in‑transit amounts.
• Run the monthly reconciliation close, producing exception logs, aging reports and documentation for sign‑off.
• Act as business controller for payments, monitoring processing costs, refunds and chargebacks by entity and geography, analysing variances and flagging margin risks.
• Produce clear reporting for leadership on financial exposure, recoveries and open issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in reconciliation, financial control or business controlling, preferably in payments, fintech or e‑commerce.
• Strong understanding of the card‑payments ecosystem (acquirers, MIDs, settlement cycles, scheme fees, chargebacks, reserves).
• Experience working across multiple entities and currencies (USD/EUR) and jurisdictions.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and ability to handle large, messy datasets.
• Rigorous, detail‑oriented mindset with strong ownership and autonomous work style.
• Excellent English communication skills, able to explain complex financial issues to non‑finance stakeholders.
