Physical Therapy Assistant PRN

About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver patient‑centered treatment programs that improve mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion. This PRN (as‑needed) position supports patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, providing education, documentation, and compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans under therapist supervision, selecting appropriate activities and adjusting goals with patients and families.
• Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to community resources.
• Document each treatment session accurately according to departmental protocols.
• Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, dress code, and infection‑control policies.
• Communicate effectively with the care team, attend staff meetings, and participate in ongoing training.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service, foster a positive environment, and apply service‑recovery principles.
• Complete mandatory continuing education, keep licensure and certifications current, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent high school diploma.
• Active licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong communication skills, customer‑service orientation, and ability to work in a team.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling.
