Medical Laboratory Technologist (Night Shift)

About the role

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist will work the night shift performing a wide range of laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring strict quality‑assurance standards. This position supports patient care by delivering accurate and timely test results.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient, quality‑assurance, proficiency, and competency testing in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Analyze, interpret, and report laboratory data, highlighting clinical significance.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor test processes, document investigations, and communicate findings within the team.
• Participate in performance‑improvement initiatives, inspection readiness, and development of new testing methods.
• Stay current with training, policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
• Assist in operational and quality‑improvement activities to provide cost‑efficient, high‑quality lab services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned while adhering to organizational standards and code of conduct.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, General Science, or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
• Certification such as MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) required upon hire.
• Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare team members.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers and data entry.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Experience using Epic electronic health record system.
• Knowledge of 3M laboratory software platforms.
