Lead Game Designer - Meta Vertical (Unannounced Project)

About the role

ChillBase is an independent game studio launching a new project and building a new meta-vertical from the ground up. As Lead Game Designer you will own feature development end-to-end, from concept and documentation through validation in the build and final quality. The role is based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall vision for systems, their relationships, progression and economy
• Own the domain roadmap with the Producer, set priorities and assign features across designers
• Review documentation and design decisions, set documentation standards and feature acceptance criteria
• Take part in hiring and onboarding Game Designers, give regular feedback and coordinate with peer teams and Production
• Own the quality and overall results of the domain
• Own major features during production: break them into tasks, write and maintain GDDs and specs, identify risks and dependencies, and review and accept features in builds
• Analyze external projects and references

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience as a Game Designer, System Designer, Product Game Designer or Feature Owner
• Experience owning large features from ideation through implementation and build validation
• Ability to write and maintain vision documents, specifications and GDDs, and to break complex systems into production-ready tasks
• Strong understanding of game systems, flows, states and dependencies
• Effective communication with Dev, UI/UX, QA and Production teams, and ability to make independent design decisions
• English sufficient to read technical and professional literature

Required skills

• Nice to have: pre-production or early production experience, mobile F2P experience, multiplayer/open-world/social projects, game economy and progression systems, Unity, mentoring or leading other designers
