HSE & Safety Professionals – Construction Supervision

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is looking for experienced Occupational Health & Safety and Road Safety professionals to support construction supervision on a major roads, tunnels and bridge infrastructure project. The role is part of a project currently at the Expression of Interest stage.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements across all construction activities.
• Monitor and enforce HSE procedures on site, including high‑risk works such as tunnelling, bridge works and blasting.
• Conduct inspections, audits and safety monitoring across project sites.
• Support implementation of road safety awareness and risk‑mitigation programmes.
• Coordinate safety matters with the Team Leader and Resident Engineer.
• Maintain compliance with contract requirements and local regulations.
• Prepare safety reports and keep proper documentation.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified specialist or Civil Engineer.
• NEBOSH certification (for HSE Specialist).
• Preferably 5+ years supervising internationally funded infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in construction safety management for roads, tunnels or bridges.
• Knowledge of occupational health & safety systems and road safety procedures.
• Familiarity with relevant local regulations and international best practices.
• Excellent reporting, coordination and communication skills.
