HSE Business Partner

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking an HSE Business Partner to join the HSSE / ERT & Security function at its Poti terminal. You will act as an internal consultant, bringing health, safety and environmental expertise to operational and leadership decisions, and help embed safe behaviours across daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior managers and operational teams to integrate HSE strategy, safe behaviours and best practices into business plans and daily work.
• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of compliant HSE programmes, management systems, emergency plans, safety policies, SOPs and risk assessments.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, monitor improvement plans and ensure controls are practical, understood and consistently applied.
• Monitor contractor and vendor risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation and APM Terminals’ global HSE standards.
• Coach and support incident investigations, track corrective actions and share learning to prevent recurrence.
• Build effective relationships with customers, shipping lines, contractors, vendors, government agencies, trucking communities, terminal departments and union representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health and safety, environmental engineering, environmental science or a related field.
• Relevant HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH National Diploma or General Certificate).
• 3‑5 years of senior‑level health and safety experience with a proven track record of delivering business objectives.
• Strong knowledge of local and global HSE regulations, hazard identification and risk management.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English.
• Strong command of MS Office applications.
