General Purchasing Specialist (Entry Level)

About the role

This entry‑level supply chain position offers the chance to work with a well‑known international manufacturer. You will manage vendors, support inventory tracking, interact with internal departments, and forecast material needs for product runs while assisting with inventory reporting and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Place orders with vendors according to manufacturing schedules.
• Research and evaluate vendors to secure the best price, quality, and availability.
• Prepare, report, and implement Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
• Select, develop, and manage the supply base, including negotiating spot purchases and long‑term agreements.
• Lead yearly cost‑reduction activities and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.
• Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply‑base strategies.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimize processes and adopt best‑practice technologies.
• Plan, organize, track, and disseminate information related to general purchasing suppliers.
• Maintain vendor and pricing data in the ERP system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Solid Excel and general computer skills.
• Deep understanding of external market trends.
• Experience in general purchasing.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Preferred automotive industry experience and Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation.
