Child Welfare Services Case Manager – After Hours Unit

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services, is seeking a Case Manager 1 for its After‑Hours Unit in Canton. This position provides rapid, face‑to‑face responses to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and works on a rotating 4‑day schedule that includes evenings, weekends and on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate timely, in‑person responses to screened‑in child maltreatment reports.
• Conduct safety assessments and develop immediate safety plans.
• Locate children and families when contact cannot be established.
• Implement Solution Based Casework (SBC) to address identified concerns.
• Partner with children and parents to create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Maintain 24‑hour coverage on a bi‑weekly rotating schedule, including on‑call responsibilities.

Required profile

• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong assessment and safety‑planning skills.
• Experience locating and engaging families in crisis.
• Commitment to collaborative, solution‑focused casework.
