Child Welfare Services Case Manager – Adoption Unit (Region 4)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager for the Regional Adoption Unit covering 12 counties in Region 4. The role involves providing comprehensive case management, supporting timely adoptions, and ensuring the safety and well‑being of children and families throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate face‑to‑face responses to screened‑in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conduct safety assessments.
• Develop and implement immediate safety plans for identified concerns.
• Conduct diligent search efforts to locate children or families when contact is lost.
• Implement Solution Based Casework (SBC) and partner with children and parents to create Family Functioning Agreements, Action Plans, and Family Plans.
• Complete genograms to map family support networks.
• Collaborate with community partners to build systems of support for children and families.
• Ensure the frequency and quality of visits meet safety and service standards.

Required profile

• Ability to travel throughout the 12 counties of Region 4.
• Capacity to conduct in‑person assessments and develop safety plans.
• Strong collaboration skills with community agencies and families.
