Application Engineer III – Protection

About the role

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is seeking an Application Engineer III – Protection to join its Tbilisi team. In this highly technical position you will act as a subject‑matter expert for automation solutions, supporting customers, partners, and internal teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in protection systems, industrial communications, and SEL solutions.
• Provide advanced technical support through customer visits, demonstrations, training, and remote assistance.
• Design and implement protection solutions that address complex customer requirements.
• Support system integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution activities.
• Develop application software, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Deliver technical training to customers, partners, and SEL personnel.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project teams to deliver high‑quality customer solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Protection Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in protection, industrial control systems, application engineering, or system integration.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, HMI, PLC, RTU, industrial networking, and control system architectures.
• Experience supporting customers through commissioning, troubleshooting, technical consulting, and training.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
